Tennis: Iga Swiatek parts ways with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski after three years

Women’s tennis world No. 1, Iga Swiatek, announced on Friday that she has parted ways with her coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski, after a three-year collaboration.

Wiktorowski joined Swiatek’s team at the start of the 2022 season, having previously coached Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska.

The 43-year-old tutored the younger Pole to four of her five career Grand Slam titles, including leading her to three of her victories in the French Open, where she has defended her title for three straight seasons.

Swiatek, 23, announced the recent development on her official Instagram account, with a message of appreciation to Wiktorowski.

She wrote: “After three years of the greatest achievements in my career, together with my coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, we decided to pat ways. I want to start with a big thank you and appreciating our work together.”

“Our main goal was to become the number one player in the world, and coach Wiktorowski was the one who said it first.

“Coach, thank you, I wish you all the best. I know that you would like to rest after these three years of hard work and travelling a lot and spend some well deserved time with your loved ones and I hope you will get what you need,” she added.
