Ten Hag: Man Utd players are not for sale

Ten Hag: Man United boss labels reaction to FA Cup semi-final win a ‘disgrace’

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dismissed reports of putting most first-team players up for sale this summer as “a joke”.

Reports have circulated in recent days of the club’s willingness to offload most of its main squad including the likes of Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well as recruits from two summers ago Casemiro and Antony.

This comes as United are looking to undergo a major shakeup in football operations under INEOS boss and minority owner Jim Radcliffe but Ten Hag pointed towards the media for cooking up such untrue stories.

“It’s a joke. As long as I’ve worked here, every summer, every window, I think 200 players are getting interest from Manchester United, Ten Hag said.

“We did some research, it’s untrue. Also, every summer we sell all of the players in our squad, which you make all of the headlines and it is untrue. That takes responsibility how you make such a headline. Find a good source if there is some truth in it.”

The Dutch tactician also stated he was happy with Jadon Sancho’s performance in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.

The English winger is currently on loan at the German club after falling out with Ten Hag and is rediscovering his best form.

“Yesterday he showed why Manchester United bought him and why he represents a high value for Manchester United,” Ten Hag added.

“That is good. I’m happy for Jadon, with his performance yesterday. We’ll see what is going to happen in the future.”

United travel to Crystal Palace on Monday night with the hope of holding a grip of sixth place on the standings which guarantees a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.
