Tani Oluwaseyi: Ramsay urges Nigerian striker to contribute more than goals for Minnesota United

Minnesota United coach Eric Ramsay has urged in-form Tani Oluwaseyi to contribute more than goals for the team in Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Nigerian striker has been in top form of late, netting in his side’s 2-1 win at Atlanta United on Saturday night.

It was his third consecutive league goal, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to do so. It was also his fourth goal in his last five games, talking his tally to five MLS goals in 10 games this season.

“He’s [Oluwaseyi] obviously got more of a role to play than just his goals, how he is in general play, his work rate off the ball, the way he presses, (and) the way he makes life very tough for the central defenders, that really contributes to the platform that we can get as a team,” Ramsay said.

Oluwaseyi was born in Abuja, Nigeria before moving to Ontario, Canada at a young age.

He was selected by Minnesota United as the 17th overall pick during the 2022 MLS SuperDraft and spent time on loan with the reserve team and San Antonio FC.

Oluwaseyi is eligible to represent either Nigeria or Canada at international level.
