Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure after the Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benin in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Monday.
Nigeria found the back of the net first through Raphael Onyedika but goals from Jodel Dossou and Steve Mounie before half-time completed the comeback for Gernot Rohr’s Benin.
Monday’s result dented the Super Eagles’ hopes of playing at the 2026 World Cup as they are currently without a win after four matches and they occupy the fifth position in Group C with three points, four points above leaders Benin.
Nigerians did not hold back to assess the Super Eagles, with a section of the fans questioning Finidi George’s coaching quality.
Finidi George may have lost some games, but he is a Master Strategist. We don’t actually need his legs to play for the Super Eagles, we only need his brain.
