Southampton have announced the sacking of Ralph Hasenhuttl following the club’s poor run of form in the Premier League this season.
The Saints suffered a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday and they have only one of their last nine league games.
Hasenhuttl left RB Leipzig to become Southampton coach in December 2018 as he leaves the club with his assistant coach, Richard Kitzbichler.
Following the confirmation of Hasenhuttl’s dismissal on Monday, the Premier League club announced that Rubén Sellés will be the first-team interim coach and he will oversee the club’s League Cup fixture against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night.
Southampton are placed 18th in the Premier League table with 12 points after 14 games this season.
