Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is doubtful Dominic Solanke can win this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.
The 26-year-old Anglo-Nigerian is the third-highest goalscorer in the top flight behind Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland (20 goals) and Ollie Watkins (19 goals).
It is three times better than his tally from last season (six goals) and is his best tally in a top division.
Iraola however believes it will be difficult for Solanke to win the Golden Boot because others ahead and behind him are equally in great scoring form.
The Spanish tactician just wants him to keep scoring goals that will give Bournemouth valuable results and points.
“It’s going to be difficult because the other forwards are in great form, they are scoring goals but he will try for sure,” Iraola said ahead of the Cherries’ league game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“I think he is performing really well and he has been really consistent throughout this season and I think he has given us very good performances and I will ask only for the goals.
“I’m very happy and I’m sure he’s very happy if he gives us points, even if he doesn’t score more.”
