Serie A Roundup: Juventus, Milan & Bologna record wins in Matchday 11

Juventus got back to winning ways after two consecutive draws in the Italian Serie A with a 2-0 win over Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium in Matchday 11 on Saturday, Afrosport reports.

Thiago Motta’s side stuttered against Parma at the Allianz Arena during the midweek and needed to calm the nerves of their fans, who were getting worried over their side’s recent poor run of form.

The Old Lady took the lead in the 19th minute through an unfortunate own goal from Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who inadvertently put the ball into his own net after a shot from Khephren Thuram ricocheted off the post before hitting him in the back.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 37th minute through defender Nicolo Savona, who rebounded Kenan Yildiz’s strike after it initially hit the post.

The 36-time Italian champions never looked back after that as they dominated their hosts to see off the match and move into third in the standings with 21 points.

Meanwhile, at Stadio Brianteo, Netherlands international Tijjani Reijnders scored the all-important goal as AC Milan beat Monza 1-0.

The 26-year-old opened the scoring for the Rossoneri in the 43rd-minute with a thumping header past Monza goalkeeper Stefano Turati.

The win moved Milan to the seventh spot in the Serie A standings with 17 points, while Monza remain in the relegation zone following the defeat.

Elsewhere, Ricardo Orsolini’s 85th-minute strike handed Bologna maximum points at home to Lecce in a 1-0 win at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

The goal was Orsolini’s fourth in the league this season, and the result ensured Bologna recorded their first home win in Serie A in seven months since they beat relegated Salernitana 3-0 on April 1.
