Former Arsenal and France midfielder Patrick Vieira is set to be announced as the new head coach of Serie A club Genoa, Afrosport reports.
According to multiple sources, Genoa will appoint the former Juventus and Inter Milan midfielder as a replacement for Alberto Gilardino, who was sacked on Tuesday after two years in charge of the Grifone, which included a promotion campaign from Serie B in 2022-23.

Following the 1-1 draw against a Como before the international break, the Genoa hierarchy decided to sever ties with its manager and club legend, Gilardino, paving the way for Vieira.
The France 1998 World Cup winner last handled French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg but left the club by mutual agreement in July 2024.
He has also managed Nice, Crystal Palace, and Major League Soccer (MLS) side New York City FC.
Genoa are currently 17th in the Serie A standings with 10 points from their opening 12 games, sitting just one point above the the relegation zone.
The Grifone will host Cagliari at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Sunday, November 24, when club football returns after the international break.
