Saudi Pro League: Cameroon’s N’koudou nets brace as Damac FC downs reigning champions Al-Ittihad

Georges-Kevin N’koudou continued his rich vein of scoring form in the Saudi Pro League, this time netting a brace in Damac FC’s 3-1 win over reigning champions Al-Ittihad on Thursday.

The Cameroon forward previously netted a brace in Damac’s 4-2 away win at Al Feiha and continued where he left off by opening the scoring against Al-Ittihad in the 12th minute, making a darting run from the centre of the pitch into the box before firing a fierce shot into back of the net.

Morocco forward Abderrazak Hamdallah equalised for Al-Ittihad from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of added time in the first half but N’koudou was able to re-establish Damac’s lead two minutes later, also in added time, with another fierce strike on the edge of the penalty area.

It was the 28-year-old’s seventh league goal in his last three matches and his 13th in 15 games this season which sees him sit joint-second on the top scorer’s list alongside Al-Hilal’s Aleksandar Mitrovic and behind Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Ittihad goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe put the final nail in the coffin by scoring an own goal at the start of the the second half.

The victory sees Damac sit in sixth place on the log, six points away from the AFC Champions League qualification places.
