2034 FIFA World Cup hosts Saudi Arabia will feature in the 2025 and 2027 editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup as confirmed by the national team on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
CONCACAF are keen on peddling the pre-existing culture of adding a global team such as Qatar who were previously invited guests.
The competition will take place in The United States of America and Canada.
“The national team will participate in the 2025 and 2027 editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup starting from the next one to be held in the United States and Canada from June 14 to July 6,” read a statement.
“This will include the Saudi Arabian Men’s National Team participating in the Gold Cup as a guest, collaboration on football development and CSR initiatives, and significant knowledge sharing between the region that will host the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the nation which has recently been awarded hosting rights for the 2034 global showpiece.”
Saudi Arabia’s triumph as the 2034 World Cup bid winners was confirmed on Thursday by the global football governing body FIFA.
