Salah, Wissa nominated for Premier League POTM award for November

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah and DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for November, Afrosport reports.

Salah continued his great start to the season, scoring four goals and contributing one assist to help Liverpool secure three wins in as many games in the month as they continue to hold on to their top spot in the standings.

Wissa, on the other hand, has also been central to Brentford’s performances, as he found the back of the net three times in the month under review, helping the Bees to two wins, a draw, and a loss.

Both Salah and Wissa, however, will battle with six other Premier League stars, with the likes of Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Joao Pedro (Brighton), as well as Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) for the Player of the Month award.

Salah is also up for the Goal of the Month award for his strike in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Brighton. The 32-year-old scored a brilliant left-footed curling effort in the 72nd minute to help the Reds secure the comeback win at Anfield.

He will, however, need to fend off competition from Leif Davis (Ipswich Town), Harry Wilson (Fulham), Cunha (X3), Emerson (West Ham), and Alejandro Garnacho (Man Utd).
