Mohamed Salah says he feels proud to have scored his 250th goal for Liverpool, Afrosport reports.

The 33-year-old Egyptian superstar reached the milestone after netting the first goal in the Reds’ 2-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa on Saturday which ended their run of four consecutive defeats in the top flight.

Salah sits third in Liverpool’s all-time scorers list behind Ian Rush (346 goals) and Roger Hunt (285 goals), while he has scored 190 Premier League goals, maintaining fourth place in the all-time scorers list behind Alan Shearer (260 goals), Wayne Rooney (213 goals) and Harry Kane (208 goals).

“It’s a great feeling to score goals and win trophies for such a big club. It’s something I don’t take for granted,” he said.

“I’m so proud and so happy about that achievement.”

Speaking on the importance of the win against Villa ahead of crunch games against Real Madrid and Manchester City, Salah added: “It’s very important. We had a few losses in the Premier League and Champions League but I’m glad we start to come back on track now.

“It’s a good plus before very important games against [Real] Madrid and [Manchester] City. It’s a very important win for us.”


Meanwhile, Conor Bradley, stated on Salah reaching 250 goals for Liverpool: “Mo is a legend for this football club and he is someone I try to learn a lot from every day in how hard he works, every day in the gym and things like that.

“He’s a fantastic player and I think he showed that. He was bang at it and fully deserved to score.”

Saturday’s win leaves Liverpool in third place on the Premier League table on 18 points, alongside second-placed Bournemouth and eight points behind leaders Arsenal.
