Wolverhampton Wanderers have parted company with head coach Vítor Pereira after a winless start to the Premier League season, Afrosport reports.
The Portuguese manager’s dismissal comes just weeks after signing a new three-year deal running until 2028 and follows a 3–0 defeat at Fulham on Saturday.
Pereira took charge last December, replacing Gary O’Neil with Wolves 19th in the table. He helped the club finish 16th and recorded a memorable league double over Manchester United for the first time since 1980.
Expectations were high ahead of this campaign, but Wolves have struggled badly, sitting bottom with just two points from ten games. Their only wins this term have come in the League Cup, against West Ham and Everton.
Tensions reached a boiling point last weekend when Pereira clashed with supporters following a 3–2 home loss to Burnley, as fans voiced their frustration with chants calling for his sacking.
Executive chairman Jeff Shi said: “Vitor and his team worked tirelessly for Wolves and helped guide us through a challenging period last season, for which we are grateful.
“Unfortunately, the start to this season has been a disappointment and, despite our strong desire to give the head coach time and matches to find an improvement, we have reached a point where we must make a change.
“We thank Vitor and his staff for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future.”

Fosun International, the club’s Chinese owners, have begun the search for a replacement, with former boss O’Neil reportedly among the names under consideration. Meanwhile, under-21 head coach James Collins and under-18 head coach Richard Walker will take over training in the meantime.
Wolves travel to Chelsea next weekend as they look to turn their season around.
