Salah: How Man United turned from the Egyptian’s least-scoring opponent to his best-scoring team

Mohamed Salah was on target for the 17th time in the Premier League this season when he saved Liverpool a point in their 2-2 draw with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Luis Diaz put the Reds in front in the first half but fell behind to second half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

Just when it seemed Liverpool were on the cusp of a defeat that was going to have impact on their title hopes, Salah stepped up to level the game from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.

In scoring, Salah broke a number of records. He became the player to score most goals against United (11). It was also his sixth strike against the Red Devils at Old Trafford, which is the most by any player in the history of the competition.

Salah also scored for the fourth consecutive game against United which is a first for any player in top flight history.

It is a remarkable turn around for Salah who did not score in his first six competitive games against United but has now gone on to score in all but one game since he netted his first goal in a 4-2 win away at Old Trafford on May 13, 2021.
