Newcomers Inter Lagos are into the quarter-finals of the 2023-24 President Federation Cup after beating cross town rivals Ikorodu City 5-4 on penalties in the round of 16 on Wednesday at the Akure Township stadium.
Ayomide Cole put Ikorodu City 1-0 up in the 19th minute, but were pegged back with 20 minutes left to play when Tony Obia equalised for Inter Lagos.
Inter Lagos eventually triumphed via spot-kicks and will now play El Kanemi Warriors in the quarter-final of the tournament.
Maiduguri-based El Kanemi Warriors pipped Shooting Stars of Ibadan 1-0 in their round of 16 clash.
Elsewhere, EFCC FC defeated Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 1-0 to set up a quarter final clash with Kebbi United who conquered Akwa United in their clash which ended 1-0.
