Pogba dropped from Juventus Europa League squad

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been dropped from the club’s travelling squad to play German side Freiburg in the Europa League Round of 16 on Thursday.

According to reports, the World Cup winner has been excluded from the squad due to disciplinary reasons.

The Italian giants released a full list of their squad for the game on social media earlier this afternoon, with other options being favoured above the French midfielder when the Old lady take on their Bundesliga opponents.

Pogba made his second competitive debut for the Bianconeri in a cameo off the bench in the Turin derby last week which was followed with another substitute appearance last Sunday.

The former Manchester United player rejoined Juventus in a free summer during the summer. His last appearance for the Red Devils was in April 2022 when he limped off with a knee problem in a 4-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Juventus now have to redeem their season which is already blighted by a 15-point reduction in the Serie A. This already leaves their hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign hanging in the balance, as winning the Europa League as a safer route to participating next year.
