Paris 2024 Paralympics: Team Nigeria medallists to get record financial rewards

With the 2024 Paralympic Games set to begin in Paris on Wednesday, August 28, the Federal Government revealed the financial rewards for Team Nigeria medallists at the event.

Suleiman Isah, the Secretary General of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), revealed that the Minister of Sports, John Enoh, has promised record monetary rewards to better motivate the athletes.

Isah announced that gold medallists will get $15,000, silver medallists will receive $10,000, and $5,000 will be awarded to bronze medallists.

“We are ready. Team Nigeria is prepared to make the nation proud in Paris. There are no injuries or crises in camp, so we are good to go,” Isah stated.

Team Nigeria will participate in four sports: athletics, badminton, para-powerlifting, and para table tennis, and Isah says the country’s contingents are ready and raring to go.

The Nigerian athletes left for Paris on Thursday, August 22, after a two-week training camp in Sabrucken, Germany. They will be hoping to surpass their achievements from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, where they finished with 10 medals.
