Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has named Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal as ideal clubs for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the Premier League.
Osimhen has been the subject of transfer interest from English clubs with his remarkable goalscoring form in the Italian Serie A.
The Nigeria international is leading Napoli’s charge for Scudetto this season with his tally of 21 goals in 23 that puts the club at the top of the Italian Serie A and atop the scorers’ chart.
When asked about the future of the 24-year-old in Naples, Okocha told BBC Sport: “A team like Manchester City, but they have [Erling] Haaland now, and I think Manchester United as well.
“It might be an ideal club for him because they have been struggling to find a quality striker in recent years. Both Manchester teams might be ideal for him, and Arsenal as well.”
Osimhen became Nigeria’s top scorer in Serie A history in November 2022, beating Simy Nwankwo’s 31 goals in the Italian top-flight. He currently has 45 goals since he moved to Naples in September 2020.
“Well I mean he’s done well, he’s having a great season,” Okocha added. “And I think he duly deserves the praise he’s getting, but the ultimate for him is to play in the Premier League which he has made clear as well.
“So we’re following his progress and what he can achieve is limitless if he continues with his hard work.”
Osimhen is among the 23 players invited for Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau on Friday and March 27.
