Coach Gbenga Ogunbote signed a two-year contract extension on Wednesday that will keep him with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars until 2026.
According to a statement released by the team’s media officer, Tosin Omojola, the experienced tactician, had weeks of discussion with the club’s management before taking the decision.
The former Rangers and Remo Stars head coach after signing the contract in a post on X said: “I am thrilled to announce that I have signed a two-year contract as the head coach of Shooting Stars.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this talented group of athletes and I am excited about the future we will build together.
“Thank you to the organisation and fans for their support, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the coming years. Up Soottiiinnn, Up Starsss……”

Ogunbote led the Oluyole Warriors to a fourth place finish in the NPFL last season.
