Egypt’s Salah scoops Liverpool Men’s Player of the Year award

Salah urges Liverpool to “stay humble” in Premier League title race

Egypt international Mohamed Salah on Monday was named the Liverpool Men’s Player of the Season, Afrosport reports.

Salah wins the award for the fifth time and second in a row after leading Liverpool to their second Premier League title and 20th English league.

The 32-year-old finished the season with 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 matches across all competitions, including 29 goals and 18 assists in the Premier League.

Salah also claimed his record-equalling fourth Golden Boot and second Playmaker award in the Premier League, as well as being named the Premier League Player of the Season and the FWA Men’s Footballer of the Year.

The Egyptian, who also signed a two-year contract extension to remain at Anfield, is now the fifth all-time top scorer in the history of the English top-flight, as his 186 goals keeps him behind Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, and Andrew Cole.
