Belgian side KVC Westerlo have announced the signing of talented Nigerian midfielder Ogonna Hyacinth from Dino Sporting Club, Afrosport reports.
The 19-year-old has signed a three-year-deal with an option for an extension, and will commence his career with the club’s Under-23 team.
Hyacinth joined Dino Sporting Club as a kid, and was instrumental when they beat Beyond Limits Football Academy to lift the Creative Championship Cup (TCC) in 2022.
He also played a huge role as Dino SC reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 Viareggio Cup in Italy last year.
The versatile left-footed player was also immense in the establishment of the club as a formidable force in the Nigeria Nationwide League (NLO).
Reflecting on Hyacinth’s move, Dino SC chairman, Samuel Colombus said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Ogonna Hyacinth, his attitude and commitment is exemplary.
“He arrived at the club as a young talent, and we are proud of the progress he has made with us. Everyone at Dino Sporting Club extends their heartfelt best wishes to Ogonna Hyacinth as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his career.”
Westerlo started their campaign in the Belgian Pro League last week with a 4-3 win at home against Union Saint-Gilloise.
Up next for De Kemphanen is a game against KAA Gent on Sunday.
