NWBF President hails participating states at National Wheelchair Basketball Championship

President of the Nigerian Wheelchair Basketball Federation (NWBF) Seyi Johnson has hailed the level of competition among the states taking part in the ongoing 3×3 National Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Abeokuta, Afrosport reports.

Ten of the 14 affiliated states to the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation are currently sweating it out in Abeokuta in the second edition of the championship.

Seyi Johnson expressed delight that the athletes being paraded by participating states have given a good account of themselves.

He said the level of the competition will put them in shape for the forthcoming National Sports Festival which will be hosted in the Gateway state.

“A lot is happening and I am extremely delighted that we were able to pull this through.

“The 3×3 National Open Championship is coming up strategically in the month that precedes the National Sports Festival, so everyone will be in shape.”

The 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball National Open Championship will come to an end on Sunday.

Johnson also revealed that plans are underway for the country’s national team to take part in an invitational tournament in Agadir, Morocco in June.
