Shooting Stars recorded a massive win on Monday afternoon in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as they defeated Kano Pillars 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The Oluyole Warriors were 2-0 winners at home to Kwara United last time out but fell behind in their trip up north when 43-year-old veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali gave Pillars the lead in the just the second minute of play.
One would havd expected Sai Masu Gida to take all the three points but 3SC had other ideas as Taiye Murtala levelled for the Ibadan side two minutes into the second half before Christian Pyagbara popped up with the winner in added time to stun the stadium crowded with Pillars supporters.
The victory was Shooting’s second win away from home this season and moved them up to sixth on the NPFL standings, three points and places shy of the CAF Confederation Cup qualification spot.
