Enyimba striker Chukwuemeka Obioma has been rewarded with the sum of ₦500,000 for emerging highest goalscorer in the 2022-23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The 24-year-old ended the campaign with 16 goals to his name, 14 goals in the regular season and he added two more goals in Enyimba’s successful outing at Super 6 play-offs in Lagos.
In the Super 6, Obioma scored the People’s Elephants’ second goal in a 2-2 draw against Remo Stars and he also scored only goal that gave FInidi George’s team a 1-0 victory against Lobi Stars.
Obioma moved to the Enyimba International Stadium in August 2021 after a brief spell with city rivals Abia Warriors.
He will be hoping to maintain his scoring form in the CAF Champions League next season after helping Enyimba lift a ninth domestic league title, which guarantees their qualification.
