Lobi Stars recorded their first victory under new manager Daniel Amokachi following a 2-1 win against Bayelsa United at the Lafia Township Stadium, on Monday, in the final round of matches in matchday nine in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Afrosport reports.

Martins added another for Lobi in the 70th minute to ensure Amokachi’s side recorded their first win in four matches.

The two clubs remain in the relegation zone with Lobi occupying the 17th position having garnered nine points from their opening nine games, while Bayelsa, with the same number of points, lie in 18th place.

In Monday’s other game, reigning champions Enugu Rangers held Kwara United to a 1-1 draw in Ilorin.

Abdulraheem Shola put the hosts in front in the 42nd minute, but Kingsley Maduforo drew Rangers level just three minutes later.

The draw ensured Kwara United moved into 12th position with 11 points, while the Flying Antelopes are ninth in the league standings.
