Nigeria international Ola Aina will remain at Nottingham Forest for the 2025-26 season after the Premier League club activated the one-year extension option in his contract, Afrosport reports.
Aina’s current deal with Forest is set to expire at the end of June, with top English clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool in search of his services.
The 28-year-old, who moved to the City Ground on a free transfer in 2023 after his release from Torino, will play at least one more season with Forest.
Forest, meanwhile, are still hoping the Super Eagles defender will agree to a long-term contract.
Aina enjoyed one of the best individual seasons in his career, helping Forest return to Europe after a 30-year absence.
The Nigerian scored two goals and provided one assist in 35 games for Forest and was a key part of their defence that kept a league-high 13 clean sheets.
Forest finished seventh in the 2024-25 Premier League season and will participate in the UEFA Conference League next season – their first appearance in Europe since the 1995-96 UEFA Cup.
