NNL adjust Super 8 kick-off date

The board of the Nigeria National League, the country’s second-tier league, has moved the kick-off date of the Super 8 playoffs to June 7.

The playoff was initially scheduled to take place from May 23-30 in Enugu State but has been adjusted due to a clash with the President’s Federation Cup round of 32 games.

The Super 8 that determines NNL champion and the three promoted teams to the Nigeria Premier Football League will now run from June 7-14 with Enugu unchanged as the host city.

The qualified teams for the playoffs are Inter Lagos, Ikorodu City FC, Beyond Limits FC and Madiba FC from the South while Nasarawa United, Sokoto United, El Kanemi Warriors and Sporting Supreme of Abuja made it through in the North.

Meanwhile, NNL chairman George Aluo has assured of a hitch-free tournament in Enugu and he reserved praise for Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah and the state’s Commussioner for Youths and Sports, Barrister Lloyd Ekweremadu for their support.
