Tolu Arokodare came off the bench and scored twice as Genk recorded a 3-0 win over Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League on Boxing Day.
The Smurfs suffered a 2-1 defeat at Anderlecht in their previous league game with 10 men and got off the blocks against the reigning Pro League champions in the 10th minute when DR Congo’s Joris Kayembe fed the ball to The Gambia’s Alieu Fadera to finish off.
It remained 1-0 in favour of Genk until the 75th when Arokodare, who came on for Ghana’s Christopher Bonsu Baah in 69th minute, doubled his team’s lead.
The Nigerian forward would go on to complete his brace two minutes later for his sixth league goal and seventh in all competitions this season.
