Wilfred Ndidi has signed a contract extension with Leicester City that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until at least 2027.
The 27-year-old Nigerian midfielder has been ever-present for the Foxes since joining from Belgian side Genk in January 2017.
He has gone on to make 289 appearances, scoring 17 goals and 12 assists. Thirty-two of those outings were in the Championship last season where Leicester topped the standings to secure instant promotion back to the Premier League for the 2024-25 season.
Ndidi’s future had been up in the air after his previous contact ran out last month, making him a free agent and available to any club.
He is now looking forward to continue playing in an environment his family is already settled.
“I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home,” he told the club website. “That’s the most important thing. I feel really happy to continue with the Club. My family is settled here and everyone back home, when they say Ndidi, they say Leicester also!,”
He added: “It’s really amazing to be a part of this journey going forward. It was quite an easy [decision] because, as I said, my family is settled here. My daughter’s going to school, it’s easy and relaxed. I know my family is sorted and I can just focus on football.
“I’ve had a chance to speak with Steve [Cooper]. I spoke to him during the holidays when he came in. He had some good ideas to share with me, so it was really, really, really amazing and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a great guy, he’s funny. I look forward to working with him, it’s very exciting.”

Ndidi will be playing under the direction of former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, who replaced Enzo Maresca following his appointment by Chelsea.
Leicester will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Tottenham Hotspur on August 19th.
