The National Basketball Association (NBA) has selected the city of Phoenix to host the NBA All-Star 2027, the league announced on Friday.
The NBA All-Star 2027 marks the fourth time the city of Phoenix will be hosting the event, having previously played host to the NBA All-Star in 1975, 1995, and as recently as 2009, when the Western Conference defeated the Eastern Conference 146-119.
The NBA also revealed that the Phoenix Suns’ Footprint Center will host the NBA All-Star Game, which will be the 76th edition on Sunday, February 21, 2027.

Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner, joined by Suns Chairman Mat Ishbia and Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, made the announcement during a press conference at Footprint Center on Friday.
He said: “Our NBA All-Star festivities in 2027 will showcase Phoenix’s love of everything basketball.”
“And we couldn’t be more excited to work with Mat [Ishbia] and the entire Suns organization for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of our sport.”
Ishbia, who purchased the Suns and its WNBA franchise, Mercury, in December 2022, said the Phoenix is excited to host the basketball world as they will be looking to “showcase the passion of their fans and the city”.
“Phoenix is the ultimate basketball destination and we are excited for fans from around the world to experience our amazing city,” Ishbia said. “We will provide an NBA All-Star Weekend unlike any other, showcasing the passion of our fans, our city, and everything that we’re building here.
“Thank you to the NBA and the entire Phoenix community for rallying together to bring this marquee event to Phoenix and show the world what we are all about.”

The NBA also revealed that the All-Star weekend will kick off on Friday, February 19, with the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and the NBA Rising Stars, a yearly matchup between highly-rated rookies and sophomore NBA players.
Saturday, February 20, will see the All-Star Saturday Night action, which usually features the Skills Challenge, 3-point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest, while the All-Star weekend comes to an end with the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.
The 2024 NBA All-Star was held in Indiana, and the Pacers’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse hosted the NBA All-Star Game, with the East defeating the West 211-186, and Milwaukee Bucks’ guard Damian Lillard crowned the game’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The NBA All-Star 2025 will be hosted by San Francisco, and the NBA All-Star Game will be played at Chase Center, the home of seven-time NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors.
The NBA All-Star 2026 game is scheduled for Los Angeles, for a record seventh time. However, the Clippers new Intuit Dome Arena will host the NBA All-Star 2026 game, as announced earlier in the year.
Additionally, Phoenix will also serve as host to the WNBA All-Stars event in 2024.
