Yunus Musah is looking forward to the United States’ friendly encounter against Ghana in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Nashville as a “really special” game.
Musah was eligible to play for the Black Stars by virtue of his parents nationality and England where he grew up before choosing the US where he was born.
He made his debut for the Stars and Stripes in November 2020 at the age of 17 and has gone on to earn 30 caps, providing two assists. He also featured at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League.
“It’s really special because a lot of people from the Ghanian community are going to be watching this game,” Musah said ahead of the game.
“Knowing that I was eligible to play for Ghana and I have roots from there. It’s a special game. My family is all from Ghana so they all are going to be watching.”
The US lost 3-1 to Germany in their last friendly over the weekend and Musah is hoping to see them bounce back against the Black Stars.
“They’re different teams obviously, different qualities. German yes a completely different team to Ghana. We’re gonna analyse [Ghana] and try to bounce back from the Germany game,” he added.
Musah joined AC Milan from Valencia this summer and he has played eight times in all competitions for the Rossoneri, providing two assists.
