Cristhian Mosquera is set to link up with Arsenal during their pre-season tour of Singapore, as he closes in on a move from Valencia to the North London club, Afrosport reports.
Personal terms are already in place between Mosquera and Arsenal and the Gunners reached an agreement to sign the defender for £15 million last week.
Valencia have now given the green light for Mosquera to finalise the switch and the Spaniard is headed to Singapore. He is expected to undergo his medical this week before meeting up with Mikel Arteta and rest of the squad.
Mosquera made 90 appearances for his boyhood club, Valencia, and was a standout performer last term—featuring in 37 of their 38 La Liga matches.
He is capable of operating at both centre-back and full-back, and will offer valuable cover for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. His arrival also comes at a crucial time, following the departures of Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
As part of their pre-season preparations, Mikel Arteta’s men will play AC Milan at the National Stadium in Singapore on Wednesday, before battling Newcastle United at the same venue on Sunday.
They will then head to Hong Kong to face rivals Tottenham Hotspur before returning to London to take on Villarreal at the Emirates Stadium.
