Alvaro Morata has joined fast-rising Serie A club Como on loan from AC Milan after the termination of his previous loan deal with Galatasaray, Afrosport reports.
The 32-year-old Spaniard spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Galatasaray with the obligation to buy him €14 million by January 2026.
He scored a total of seven goals and provided three assists in 16 competitive games for the Istanbul giants who were paid €5 million by Milan to terminate the loan deal after multiple back and forth.
Morata will now team up with his former Chelsea and Spain national teammate Cesc Fabregas, who is currently in charge at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
Como will be the third Serie A team for Morata after previous spells with Juventus and Milan. The Lombardy outfit have the option to buy him for €10 million at end of the 2025-26 season.
Reacting to his move, Morata said: “I’m really happy to have arrived in Como. Last year, playing against them, I was able to appreciate the team and the project; you can see that there is a lot of ambition. I promise the fans and the club that I will give 200% in every training session and every match. I can’t wait to wear this shirt.”
Meanwhile, head coach Fabregas said: “I’ve known Alvaro for many years and I’ve always admired the way he plays and the way he carries himself. He’s an intelligent striker who has delivered in the biggest moments and a teammate who lifts everyone around him. We’re so happy to have him here at Como.”
