Denis Bouanga and Kei Kamara both found the back of the net as Los Angeles FC claimed a 2-1 win over city rivals Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS on Wednesday night.
The fixture, dubbed ‘El Trafico’, was played in front of 70,076 crowd at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
LAFC were in full control with Sierra Leone’s Kamara, fresh off surpassing LA Galaxy icon Landon Donovan as the second highest all-time top scorer in MLS history, sending in a pinpoint header from Mateusz Bogusz’s corner kick in the 40th minute.

LAFC’s lead was doubled four minutes later when Gabon star Bouanga scored from the penalty spot for his sixth El Trafico goal and 14th league goal of the season.

The Galaxy pulled one back in 56th minute through Gabriel Pec’s clinical finish but that was as far as they could go.
The result sent LAFC top of the Western Conference standings, three points clear of Real Salt Lake and the Galaxy.
The however sit in third place in the race for the Supporters Shield, four points behind leaders Inter Miami.
