Michail Antonio released from hospital following car accident

West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has been discharged from hospital after being involved in a car accident which resulted to a broken leg, Afrosport reports.

Antonio had to undergo a surgery on his lower limb following the incident that occurred on  December 7.

The 32-year-old Jamaican was honoured by his teammates who wore his number 9 shirt before kickoff during their 2-1 triumph over Wolves two days later.

The London Club was full of appreciation for all bodies and agencies that were involved in the treatment and recovery of the Jamaican as they also stated that they would donate close to £60,000 to the NHS and Air Ambulances UK charities after the shirts were sold at auction.

“Everyone at the club would like to reiterate their heartfelt thanks to the first responders, emergency services, air ambulance staff and the NHS for the incredible support given to Michail in the wake of the accident,” West Ham said a statement.

Michail Antonio has played 14 times in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
