Mbeumo appreciates relationship with Brentford teammate Wissa

Bryan Mbeumo says he has a good relationship with Brentford teammate Yoane Wissa.

The Cameroonian and Congolese forwards assisted each others late goals as the Bees recorded a 2-1 Premier League win at Bournemouth on Saturday, Mbeumo’s strike being his 50th in Brentford colours.

Both players have built a good chemistry on the pitch resulting in important goals for Brentford with a combined 28 goal involvements (20 goals, eight assists) this term.

“It’s an unbelievable touch from Wiss. When the ball comes over from the keeper it’s always hard, but it was the perfect touch,” Mbeumo told the club website.

“There’s a lot of work on the pitch but also off it; we have a really good relationship and we are very good friends.

“Training the combinations is really important.”

Reflecting on the game, Mbeumo said: “It was a tough game against a really good team; we fought until the last minute to get the winning goal.

“We wanted to win and we gave everything.”

Brentford remain in 16th place on the log but are not in danger of relegation with 13 points separating them from the drop with one more round of fixtures to go.
