Kylian Mbappe is unmoved by whatever the outcome of 2025 Ballon d’Or award for men’s best player in the world will be, Afrosport reports.
The French superstar had a productive first season at Real Madrid, scoring 43 goals in 56 appearances as Los Blancos failed to win any piece of silverware.
Mbappe will be up against the likes of Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal, Raphinha as well as his compatriots, Ousmane Dembele and Desire, at his former club Paris Saint-Germain.
The 26-year-old however asserted he will be fine with whoever emerges as the winner at the ceremony in Paris on September 22.
“I’m not the one who gives out the Ballon d’Or. I have my own opinions, which might be different from others,” Mbappe said after France clinched third place in the 2025 UEFA Nations League.
“There are votes—around 100 journalists, I think. The only award I can directly influence is the Golden Shoe, because that depends on my feet and my performance on the pitch.
“The Ballon d’Or doesn’t depend on me—there are other factors. If I win it, great. If not, I’ll be fine.”
With that goal, @KMbappe hits the milestone of 𝟓𝟎 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞!
Just one behind legendary Thierry Henry…

Mbappe scored his 50th international goal for France in the 2-0 win over Germany, taking him eight goals short of becoming Les Bleus all-time leading scorer.
