Kylian Mbappe has set a target of scoring 50 goals for the 2024-25 season after opening his Real Madrid account in Wednesday night’s 2-0 win over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw, Afrosport reports.
The French superstar doubled Los Blancos’ lead after Federico Valverde put them in front.
Despite, setting a target for himself, Mbappe asserted that the team continuing the tradition of winning was the most important thing.
“We are Real Madrid, we have no limits. If I can score 50, then 50. But the most important thing is to win and improve as a team,” he told the club website.
“I’m very happy for the goal. For a striker like me, to be decisive in the first game is important, but I’m also happy just to have played, I was really looking forward to it.
“Vinicius and Bellingham are great players, but we have the best players in every position. I’m very happy to play with the squad we have, I’m sure we will improve. Me first.”

Reflecting on Mbappe’s debut performance , Madrid president Fiorentino Perez said: “The fact that Mbappe made his debut in a Real Madrid shirt by scoring is going to give him a lot of confidence to have a good season.
“He’s very happy. When he picked up his medal he was happy. It’s not easy to make your Real Madrid debut with a goal and he’s made a great start.”
The former Paris Saint-Germain man will be primed to make his La Liga debut when Madrid travel to Mallorca on Sunday.
