Marc Brys has denied his resignation as head coach of the Cameroon national team despite his exit being confirmed by the country’s football governing body, FECAFOOT, on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
A letter supposedly from Brys to the sports ministry and FECAFOOT, stated he had made the decision to terminate his contract due to the non-payment of remuneration to him and his backroom staff for more than two months.
The Belgian tactician has however clarified that his email had likely been hacked as the letter did not come from him and did not tender his resignation.
The Cameroon sports ministry confirmed that Brys remained in his role while FECAFOOT has not responded to his denial.

The 63-year-old has had a frosty relationship with FECAFOOT president and country legend Samuel Eto’o since his appointment last year.
The mixed messaging on his future comes five months before Cameroon’s campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco while they are second in Group D of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers behind Cape Verde with four games to go.
