Man Utd: Ten Hag sends warning to Rashford’s suitors ahead of summer transfer window

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has performed below expectations all season, but there have been speculations of a proposed bid linking him to a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.

However, Dutch manager Erik ten Hag has played down any talks of a move away from Old Trafford for the 26-year-old Englishman, who signed a five-year contract extension last season.

“We didn’t re-sign him [under a new contract] last season for four years with the intention to sell him now,” Ten Hag said on Friday when asked about the speculations surrounding a move for the forward.

“He should be part of this project and it’s not a subject we talk about”.

Rashford enjoyed his best goal-scoring campaign in the 2022–23 season, hitting 30 goals in all competitions as well as providing 11 assists across 56 matches for the Red Devils.

The Carrington Academy graduate has found life tough this season, finding the back of the net just seven times this season, along with six assists in 34 matches.

According to reports, Rashford has caught the eye of PSG, with the French champions readying a £75 million bid for the United man, whose transfer could be of huge benefit to the Red Devils.

With United in trouble of breaching the Financial Fair Play rules this summer, his sale would provide profit as he is seen as a homegrown player, also helping them stay within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

Rashford is expected to be in action for United this weekend when they welcome archrivals Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday for a FA Cup quarter-finals tie.
