Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed the return of Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha from injury ahead of Saturday’s crunch Premier League clash with rivals Chelsea at Old Trafford on Friday, Afrosport reports.
Both players missed the 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City last week after picking up a knock and a hamstring injury respectively in the 3-2 win over newly-promoted Burnley.
Amorim, speaking ahead of the game, said Mount and Cunha will be in the squad at Old Trafford while Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez remain out.
“Dalot is out, Mount and Cunha are in the squad. Martinez is still out. I think that is it,” he said.
“Tyrell Malacia is returning to contact with team-mates and the ball in the U21s then we’ll see.”
Amorim was further asked about Alejandro Garnacho’s return to the club following his deadline day transfer to Chelsea, to which he replied: “Garnacho is not our player, I’m focused on our players.
“I’m really happy with Mason [Mount] and [Matheus] Cunha returning, the rest you need to talk about with the Chelsea manager.”

Amorim will be hoping to get maximum points after coming under fire from pundits and fans for continuing to utilise a 3-4-3 formation, which some believe is not delivering the results for the team.
