Ligue 1: Lucas Hernandez, Kimpembe return to PSG training after long-term injuries

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has announced the return of defenders Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe after long-term injuries, Afrosport reports.

‎Hernandez underwent surgery in May after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament during the first leg of PSG’s Champions League semi-final clash against Borussia Dortmund, while Kimpembe has been on the sidelines for almost two years following an Achilles tendon injury sustained on 26 February 2023.

‎”These are players who are returning. Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe have readjusted to the team,” Enrique said in his pre-match conference on Thursday.

‎”They need rhythm, they lack the process of taking the time to train to be able to help the team. The injuries are a thing of the past and it is good news that they are back in the group.”

‎PSG, who undefeated in Ligue 1 this season, having amassed 33 points after 10 wins and three draws, sit atop the standings.

The French champions will head to the Stade Abbe-Deschamps to take on Auxerre in a matchday 14 fixture slated for Friday.
