La Liga: Real Madrid to face Real Sociedad, Barcelona gear up for Real Betis

Matchday 5 in La Liga begins on Friday with Rayo Vallecano taking on Alaves in a mid-table clash at the Estadio de Vallecas. After winning their first two games of the new campaign, Vallecano have lost their last two with a combined score of 8-nil and Los Franjirrojos will be hoping to get back to winning ways while playing in front of their home fans.

On Saturday, fifth-placed Athletic Club, who are currently unbeaten in their last three games, and Cadiz will square off in the first game of the day at San Mames; Diego Simeone and his Atletico Madrid entourage will visit the Mestalla Stadium to take on Valencia. Colchoneros are unbeaten in the league and they currently have a game in hand while sitting in fourth-place in the standings.

After getting back to winning ways in the league just before the international break, seventh-placed Real Betis will travel to the Camp Nou to face defending champions Barcelona, who are currently unbeaten and will be playing at home for the first time in three league matches; and Celta Vigo will take on Mallorca in the last game of the day.

On Sunday, Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood will hope to make his much-anticipated debut when Getafe takes on Osasuna at the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez; the Yellow Submarines of Villarreal will be looking to kickstart their season under new boss Jose Pacheta having lost three of their last four matches when they lock horns against Almeria at the Estadi de la Ceramica, and that game will be live on Afrosport at 3:15 p.m. with live studio analysis at 2:45 p.m. WAT.

Later on in the day, Sevilla will take on Las Palmas; high-flying Girona will visit the New Los Carmenes Stadium to take on Granada as they will be looking to build on their early season success; and for the last match of the game week, league leaders Real Madrid, who are in red-hot form, will play their second home game in a row when they welcome eighth-placed Real Sociedad to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It will be a battle between two highly in-form stars as English midfielder Jude Bellingham, who won the La Liga Player of the Month award for August and already has five goals and an assist in four games, will come up against Japanese forward Takefusa Kubo, who boasts three goals and an assist in the same number of games.
