Thirteen-time NBA All-Star and two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant moved higher up the all-time scoring chart of the NBA in the Phoenix Suns’ 120-107 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
The 35-year-old leapfrogged Hall of Famer Elvin Hayes for 11th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with his 31-point and 9-assist performance.

The Suns’ power forward, playing in his 1,000th career game, entered the game at the Footprint Center needing just 14 points to pass Hayes, and he got all 14 in the first quarter on 6-for-6 shooting, including a 3-pointer and a free throw.
“Being amongst the all-time greats, the guys who set the standard and made the NBA what it is today is an honor,” Durant said. “It’s pretty cool and I just gotta keep going.”
Durant now has 27,331 career points and he needs just 79 points to surpass Moses Malone (27,409) and move into the top ten all-time scoring list.
