Nigerian youngster Joel Yakubu has joined Czech Republic First League side Slovan Liberec from Abuja-based Mahanaim FC, Afrosport reports.
The 18-year-old midfielder had his medical on Wednesday, and has signed a three-year deal.
Mahanaim FC confirmed the development, a day after also transferring former Golden Eaglets captain Yahaya Lawali to MFK Karvina, also in the Czech Republic.
“Mahanaim FC is delighted to seal Yakubu’s deal after a successful transfer of Yahaya Danjuma Lawali Yakubu to MFK Karvina few days ago,” read a statement by the club.
“Yakubu’s development with Mahanaim has been tremendous over the years, and we are very delighted that he’ll have the opportunity to show the rest of the world, his talent, we wish Joel Yakubu the best of luck.”

Slovan Liberec are currently 10th on the log in the Czech First League, and up next for them is a league game against Bohemians 1905 on Sunday.
