Dutch club Feyenoord have announced that Ayase Ueda will be out for the calendar year after suffering a hamstring injury in their home defeat to Ajax on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
The Japan international will miss his country’s final 2026 World Cup qualifiers of the year against Indonesia on November 15 and China four days later.
Ueda, who has scored 14 goals in 18 matches for his country over the last two years, will now be sidelined until 2025 as the Samurai Blue look to qualify for an eighth straight edition of the World Cup.
The club said in a statement: “Ayase Ueda will no longer play this calendar year. The attacker is struggling with a thigh injury that will keep him out until at least the winter break.”
All strength to Ayase ❤️
Wishing you a good recovery!

The 26-year-old has also scored four goals in 12 games in the Dutch Eredivisie this season including his first Champions League goal during their 3-1 win at Benfica on October 23.
Ueda’s injury means summer signing Julian Carranza will lead the line for the remainder of the year, as last season’s top scorer, Santiago Gimenez, was also recently ruled out of action for a lengthy period.
