Ipswich Town have completed the signing of winger Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa for a reported fee of about £20 million, Afrosport reports.
Philogene has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal with Ipswich, becoming the club’s second signing in the January transfer window following the arrival of English defender Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta.
The 22-year-old returned to Villa from Hull City on a long-term deal last summer, having enjoyed some success with the Championship club. He has, however, found game time hard to come by at Villa Park, prompting his move to Portman Road.
“I’m excited to be here and I know there are great players in the squad,” said Philogene.
“I just want to play as much as possible. As a player I like to dribble and link up play and provide goals and assists. I’m looking forward to it.”

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna said: “He is a player that we like, who we have tried to bring to the club in previous windows and we think he has got qualities to really fit in here.
“It has been a slightly longer process than we would have wanted, but steadfast within all that has been that Jaden believes in the project here. It is a complicated deal for the football club to do because he is a young player who has just signed a five-year contract with Aston Villa in the summer.”
Jaden Philogene has played 15 times for Villa in all competitions this season, including 11 times in the Premier League, and he makes the switch to Ipswich, who are 17th in the league standings with 16 points.
The Tractor Boys, who are currently undefeated in their last two league games, host 11th-placed Brighton on Thursday.
