Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Celtic on a free transfer after the termination of his contract at Sevilla, Afrosport reports.
The 28-year-old’s deal at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan was rescinded on transfer deadline day on Monday, leaving him without a club.
Scottish Premiership giants Celtic have however snapped him, and will reunite with head coach Brendan Rogers whom he worked with at Leicester City at tasted FA Cup and Community Shield success.
The Northern Irish tactician said of Iheanacho’s singing: “I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team. He is such a talented player, with great ability, athleticism and work-rate.
“I am sure he will love being at Celtic and I believe our fans will love what he brings. He has great experience and he is right in his peak years so he can be a great signing for us. I am sure he will make a big contribution to the team.”

Iheanacho was not called up to the Nigeria squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, hence will stay back in Glasgow to integrate with his new environment.
He could make his debut against Kilmarnock in the Premiership after the international break on September 14.
