Igbokwe targets back-to-back wins with SK Dynamo

Former Nigeria U23 forward Goodluck Igbokwe is aiming to build on a strong start to life at SK Dynamo České Budějovice after scoring the match-winning goal in their 1-0 victory over Viktoria Žižkov last weekend, Afrosport reports.

The 23-year-old, who recently signed a two-year contract with the Czech National Football League side from Portuguese outfit Rio Ave, made an immediate impact by netting the only goal of the game. It was a crucial win for Dynamo, their first since July and only their second since January.

SK Dynamo currently sit 14th on the league table, and the win provided a much-needed boost ahead of a tough fixture against 7th-placed Sparta Prague B on Friday.

Speaking ahead of the match, Igbokwe expressed optimism about his form and the club’s prospects.

“I felt what winning means to this team. I am glad to have opened my goal account and I hope to continue this way”.

“This place feels like home. I was welcomed like a prince, and hopefully I can contribute a lot here.”

Igbokwe, who also played for Gent in Belgium before his move to Portugal, praised the quality of the Czech league and emphasised that the ambition shown by SK Dynamo played a major role in his decision to join the club.
