Umar Sadiq has issued a warning to cyberbullies following the incident that happened with Alex Iwobi after the Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final loss to hosts Ivory Coast.
Iwobi came under heavy criticism and abuse from online users which led to the Fulham player deleting all the content from his Instagram account.
Support has since poured out for Iwobi with captain Ahmed Musa calling on the culprits to desist from the act.
Sadiq, however took a different approach, stating in a post on his Instagram Stories that he would hit back hard and abuse whoever came out to so such to him.
“I no even play you con dey insult me,” the Real Sociedad forward said.
“Abeg oo me, I no be Iwobi, I go insult person papa with him mama join.
“Yes I be that topical [typical] Hausa boy, abi you see fear for my eyes?
“Pushing someone into depression and mental breakdown, yet you want life to be better for you, e no fit ever better for una!
“Vagabonds!!!”
Sadiq was initially part of the 27-man AFCON 2023 Super Eagles squad but withdrew due to injury.
He however caused a stir after he was seen training days later with his club Real Sociedad and has since featured in seven competitive matches, including 29 minutes of action in the 1-0 home loss to Basque rivals Osasuna at the weekend.
